I was wondering if CA are able to collect from any state or if there are restrictions as to what state. I have an out of stste collection co. trying to collect on an account they bought of mine. Thanks all

The collection agency has to be licensed in your state before doing the collections. Check the attorney general office in your state and know if they have the permission to do so. They don't need to have any federal license or registration in all states. In some states, CA needs to be sign a bond. You can also contact your state's consumer protection office through the federal government's Consumer Action website, www.consumeraction.gov/state.shtml
