Can we do a gebt consolidation and keep our house?

Dar,

debt consolidation is different from debt consolidation loan. You need not own a home to enter into the program, no collateral is needed.

By registering with this site, you will be receiving free consultation. The counselor working in the program will work out suitable payment plan for you first and then will negotiate with your creditors and get the payment plan approved. Once the negotiation is complete, you will be offered easy monthly payments with reduced rate of interest.

You can go through the benefits of debt consolidation here-

Hi Shirley,

You are right. debt consolidation covers unsecured debts only. Secured debts are not eligible for consolidation program.

Dar wanted to know if any collateral is needed to enter into the program. Consolidation loan requires some collateral so that the lender can get the money back if you default again. Thanks to God, consolidation program is free from all that obligations. IMO, this is the best process to become debt free nowadays.

BTW, nice avatar ;)

Hi Stan! Yes, I understood what Dar was asking. I just came up with that point in question on my own. LOL my thoughts drifted eleswhere.
I agree with what you said about FREE consolidation programs being the best process to become debt free. I don't understand being so 'in over your heard' that you can barely make it but have to pay someone a fee to consolidate your debts. That seems almost like setting yourself up to fail. I mean, if you can't make your payments as it is, what good will it do to pay someone for this, any money you would have saved on your monthly payments, will go to them. JMO. shirley
