Welcome to the forums! Do you have the name of the company that is calling you, and the phone number? Perhaps, contacting their business office could cease this matter. Also explain that their collection agents are rude when you tried to explain that they had the wrong number. That is considered harassment, and you could file a police report in this matter, as well as make a complaint with the BBB.
In any case, the next time they call, explain to them that the call is being recorded for your records. After they give their spill on who they are, maybe then they'll realize they are still dialing the wrong number.

PAW,
Added to what Mike has said, consider sending stop calling letter. Make it CMRRR. You should file complaint with FTC, BBB and contact Consumer Protection Agency for this purpose.
Collectors always believe that consumers are lying. If you really find it difficult to clarify the matter, try to get a new number that was not assigned to anybody previously. Keep us posted.
