I love this community and all the help I have been advised of just over the last few days since I found this treasure trove of information but I seem to dealing with a whole lot more pop up ads and spyware.

Just wondering if this is only me?

Thanks

Tim

Are you running an active pop up blocker?

I have not been because it interfers with my online college classes so I have not bothered with a blocker in a while.

Besides trying to get the old debt cleared up also trying to finish out my degree to make my good job these days a bit better

More then like the one of the grandkids probably got on the computer and did some surfing. I do believe the little angels horns are holding up their halo's  :D Guess I need to remember to lock it down when I am not around.

Figured I would ask to see if I was the only one experiencing the problem.

Thanks for the input

Tim

Shiley - I hear you there. I get a ton of them from payday loan places. The ones we used to loan with sold our e-mail address. They are like voltures, squeeze every last cent they can.

Well went ahead and reformatted the hard drive and just reset up the computer.

Lucky it does not cost me anything since I have been building and programing my own systems for a long time now. Just a hobby nothing professional.

No more popups occurring now so I suspect the grandkids may have been playing while I was at work. No real harm done when all it takes for me is to wipe the hard drive and start over.

I have noticed with my own kids, that a lot of those site that kids visit (for jokes, games, etc) are LOADED with Spy ware, ad ware, and malware. You can take care of a lot of the problem with a good anti spy ware program. If money is tight , Ad aware, Spybot search and destroy, and Microsoft AntiSyware are all very effective at finding and getting rid of spyware. For a long time I used Ad aware and Spybot together, what one missed the other would find. (when you install they both say the other will cause problems, just check ok, and run them both, I never had a problem with either one.

All three are either free or have free versions, with free updates. IF you send me a PM I will send you links where to download them.
