I may have to lay up in the bed with David and wait for someone to bring us both some chicken soup. :( Oh man, I suddenly came down with a stomach flu thats been going around and I am sooooo sick! My daughter had it last week but they're doing an ultra sound on her this week to make sure its not gall stones. They're pretty sure its a flu but since her symptoms also sounded a little like gall bladder, they're checking her to be on the safe side.

Tonight my husband tried a new burger on us, something that is famous in st louis and it was sooooo good. But a little while after that, I got sick. (not from his food--it wasn't that). Man this came on fast. I threw up and I NEVER throw up, I hate it and avoid it as much as possible. I'm spending more time in the bathroom than anything. :( YUCK! just telling you all so if I'm not on as much, you'll know why---should try moving the computer into the bathrooom! think I'm going to be spending alot of time in there over the next day or so.

**okay as for the burger. My FAVORITE food in the whole wide world are cheeseburgers. I can eat them morning, noon and night/three times a day/seven days a week. My husband grilled the burgers so they had that charcoil broiled taste. Put slices of sharp cheese on it while it was hot, to melt it, then you put bacon on it. And your bread, is a glazed donut! You take a glazed donut and cut it in half like a bun and put your burger w/cheese and bacon on it and you're set. I love onion so had to have a big slice on onion on it and ketchup and mustard. hey, I know it sounds freaky--a sweet glazed donut on a hamburger but it was actually good! He goes to st louis every day and they were talking about it on the radio. They have it at the ballpark there. you know, ballpark junk food.

It looks horrible, and sounds horrible, but it is the greatest! lol

I wasn't afraid to try it, because my friend Jen and I would eat chicken nuggets with peanut butter in high school, just for the gross out factor with people at school..lol But the chinese version is awesome.

Shirley, I hope you feel better soon! I was sick also, I am still trying to recover, but drinking on St. Patty's day didn't help anything!!! LOL! This burger that you are talking about sounds weird, but intriguing. I would have to try it :)

Jessi - I haven't had the peanunt butter chicken, but I will check my favorite chinese place to see if they have it, it sounds good!

thanks guys!!! The story behind the burger is that they make it at the ball stadium in st louis. My husband here paul harvey talking about it and decided to try it. I went on line and a newspaper in st louis did an article on it. Its a hamburger patty, with sharp cheese melted on it with bacon and glazed donuts as the bread (buns). You know the singer luther vandross? In 1993, at 2 in the morning, he couldn't sleep was up making a hamburger, then realized that he didn't have any bread--so used to glazed crispy creme dounuts instead. It was he had. and it caught on. Its really good. Cook the burgers on the grill though instead of stove top so you can get that broil taste. It reminds me of 'fair' junk food. you know at the fair you can get freeto pie (freetos with chilli and cheese on top)-fried candy bars...and so on. Reminds me of something you would get at the fair.
Jessi, a friend of mine was saying she tried a sandwich yesterday that was peanut butter and bacon. I said ON NO, you have got to try peanut butter and chicken. I was thinking, cook you up some chicken fillets on the stove and put them on a peanut butter sandwich--the peanut butter chicken concept. I don't know if I could do peanut butter and bacon--but hey this comes from someone who used a glazed dounut as a bun!!!! lol

OOhhh noooo! I hope you're feeling better Shirley! I was sick on Saturday myself, not a happy camper. I think it was because of the nectarine I had with breakfast that morning, it had probably gone bad, or I didn't wash it properly. I'll spare you the gory details, but the whole thing changed my view of nectarines I can tell you that!

SUSHI!! now you're talking. Ever had raw tuna with hot mustard? Thats a big hawaiian treat and we got turned on to that the first time we went to hawaii.

I also forgot to tell you guys that the dounut burger is 1000 calories!!! I'm sick as a dog right now but am in the kitchen making banana pudding, lasagna and a huge salad. Had to drive my daughter to college today, neither one of us felt like it, but she gets there and comes back out ten minutes later---the teacher didn't show!

I got better, just a bad nectarine I guess! I eat huge salads for lunch, dinner for me tonight will be steak and summer squash. When my husband gets home, it will be more elaborate meals because he's the cook in the house. He's made lasagna, homemade pizza, Eastern Indian chicken, and he makes steak with oven fries and bearnaise sauce. His cooking is always such good medicine.
I've had raw tuna with wasabi, if that's what you mean by hot mustard, I love wasabi! Crazy about it! Just be careful, it's a real shocker to your sinuses!

yeah, I couldn't get the word wasabi to come to mind. I LOVE IT!!! we have a health food store here in memphis that has fresh sushi--japanese men make it right there in front of you--. My youngest daughter LOVES it, so we throw her a big sushi birthday party every year on her birthday (she was born in japan). The last time we went to the health food store, Issac Hayes was there and she got his autograph.

Yep, where I used to work at Protocol there was a really good Japanes restaurant next door. (every cloud has a silver lining I suppose) I used to make the waitstaff there smile with avarice when I would go in and order the expensive ($17) sushi and sashimi platter for lunch. I used to treat myself to that as often as feasible in order to keep my sanity from a job we all know too well!

by the way, Protocol Pensacola is history as of this Friday! Maybe I'll do a drive-by mooning!
