Well, I have closed my checking account and opened a new one. When the PayDay lenders try to debit their charges on 03/31....well, they will get a notice that my account is closed. I do feel like I should try to work with them, though most of the stories I have heard do not leave me with a lot of expectation on their acceptance. I am guessing that my first step should be a letter explaining that I am having trouble and would like to work with them. I saw a sample letter section here somewhere and can not find it again! Can anyone point me that way please? Thank you all...it feels good to be doing something ...even if I am not sure I am doing it right!

Last time I sent letters out to collection agencies, I went to the post office and my intent was to send them certified mail with electronic return receipt (I know it's only, what, 50 cents cheaper, but when you know you will be sending 30-40 letters over the next few weeks, you have to think smart, right?). So I walked up to the counter and told her exactly what I wanted. She told me that "It's the same thing as the regular return receipt." I told her that it's 50 cents cheaper so I wanted it electronically. She gave me a big sigh and said "I don't know how to do that anyway." I just looked at her and gave up. I wasn't in the mood to fist-fight that day...LOL.

She works there and doesn't know how to do the sale? And she didn't have anyone there to show her how??

How annoying!

And 50 cents is 50 cents! I've learned how much every penny counts in this last year or so since I've been stuck in this mess. And over 40 letters, that's 20 dollars! :)

I probably would have got smart with her and said, "You better find a manual, cuz I've got a box full for you." LOL I really need to learn to watch my mouth sometimes.

That's the one thing my Chris always tells me, "You're too high strung, you need to relax." I'll relax when I have time to relax...lol
