Is there a reasonable chance that, by wise financial management and adequate income that you're going to be able to dig yourself out from under that pile?
You can still file bankruptcy, chapter 7 (your credit is not going to get any worse than what you've got now, because as long as you're in default on that stuff, they can keep it on credit reports, and that could last more than the time that bankruptcy would). But the rules have changed and you now have to prove you've taken an approved personal financial management course before you can file. But it might be good to talk to an attorney in your area who does that kind of work.

It will be better if you ask the question to the counselor because it requires some analytical work to comment how much you will be paying monthly once you enter into consolidation program.
The counselor will first review your total debt amount, rate of interest, your income, monthly expenditure and other financial obligations. Then you will be offered an amount to pay per month.
