I am 22 years old, still in school, and at least $1500 in debt ASIDE FROM my student loans. I have had things turned over to collections, etc. b/c I got sick and didn't work for over 6 months. Between that & school, its hard for me to come up with the money. Is there any way I can consolodate? I don't even know what all I owe, and I can't go to my parents with this. Help Me! I know nothing about this stuff and I'd like to get things on the right track before I begin, "real life!"

Ashley, I know things seem pretty tough right now. But, believe it or not, many people really start there debt problems while they are young, particularly while in school. The problem is, many people continue to ignore them for years until they run out of options. I know $1500 in debt seems like a lot to you. However, the good thing is that you are trying to get help now. Speak to an accredited credit counselor, they can help you come up with an action plan to get you out of debt and get started on a path to financial health and independence. The sooner you start, the better.

dmj is right. You should avail the free counseling offered by this site. Enter you contact details and wait for the counselor to call you. It takes hardly one or two days to receive the call.

The counselor will offer you valued suggestions on how should you proceed with your debts and what will bring ultimate benefits to your way. All the best.
