 I am 22 years old, still in school, and at least $1500 in debt ASIDE FROM my student loans. I have had things turned over to collections, etc. b/c I got sick and didn't work for over 6 months. Between that & school, its hard for me to come up with the money. Is there any way I can consolodate? I don't even know what all I owe, and I can't go to my parents with this. Help Me! I know nothing about this stuff and I'd like to get things on the right track before I begin, "real life!"

Is this site legit??

You should definately talk to one of the counselors about consolidation. You may even be able to do it on your own by researching this site for the information you'll need. This site is also full of any information you will need through the process--and all of us "regulars" here will be glad to help you.

ASh,go ahead and give them a call and they'll get you fixed right up! you'll be glad you did and it will be alot of worry off of you. Go ahead and get things fixed and straightened out now while you're young so you don't have to go through what some of the rest of us have had to go through. You're too young to be worrying over debts, you should be out having fun and enjoying life!!!

You're in the right place, and the fact that you are asking for help is huge. I'm 34, and when I was your age, I was going through something similiar. The mistake I made was not facing it, and letting my debt and credit spiral downward. Learn from MY past - make sure whatever debts you owe, you are making regular payments, no matter how small. I screwed up my credit and am only NOW getting back on track. If I had taken this advice when I was 22, I'd be able to buy a car, house, etc without getting stung on high interest rates. Good luck! This site is great...

Sue,

Ain't that the truth. I'm just now getting my financial life back on track. If I would have listened while I was younger, things would be different for me now too. If you can get your credit in order now, do it while you are young. It will definately pay off in the future. I signed up with the company who contacted me through this site officially on Friday. My husband and I will be completely debt free in less than two years, minus the mortgage of course. Things are going to get better for all of us here. :)
