Pretty excited, I bit the bullet and called some creditors, upped my payment and will have 2 more paid off in 3-4 months!! Ya Now I can finally see the light at the end od the tunnel. How I was able to up my payments was this: called my car insurance, dropped full coverage on one vehicle that was not necessry, nor would it pay,to have full coverage. Got my home insurance with auto insurance, saved me more money all around. With this "extra"from my insurance savings,I upped my payments on 2 bills a little, but that little will pay them off faster. I know they say to pay your higher interest ones off first, but for me,that only works if the balances are low. By paying ogg small bills,I take tahe payment and put toward another one, until all my smaller ones are paid off. Then the money I was paying for all my smaller ones are put toward the one with higher interest rates to pay off. You will be surprised at how much those smaller debt payments add up to,and are able now to add that to your payment on the bigger ones to pay them off. This works for me,it might not for you,but hope this helps someone. On my way to becoming debt free!! :D

Thanks Jessi and Clay.Yeah,to finally see some hope that this isn't going to go on forever(although times it seems like it).Things will be tight for a while, but it's worth it to finally get some peace. Now,if I could get this LVNV,Phillips-Cowan thing straightened out I' be doing alot better!! Good for you 2 Jessi, seeing others take steps to get out of debt and how they did it was a big help to me.Thanks again

Thanks again, all. You know there is still a while before everything is paid off,but it is so good to just have one paid off,so unless the govt, comes up with more they think we owe,we'll be through with them. I guess I just want people to know when I came to this forum,I was panicked and full of fear, not to mention feeling hopeless. Thanks to those already here, they calmed my fears, and walked me through step-by-step what to do and gave me solutions I didn't know I had. That's the thing, there are solutions to every problem, sometimes I don't know what they are or see them. I won't say it has or will be easy, but what you're going through isn't easy either. I lost my job, my mother who is gravely ill lives with us and I take care of her and also my 32 year old son on disability. BUT today I don't have to live in fear or despair, thanks to this forum and the people. If you haven' signed up yet, please do so,you have everything to gain. Sorry this is so long,I just had to say this!!
