I have made a few offers with creditors for settlements. I have paid these off and want to find out if this will help my credit or hurt it more? I am assuming I still have the 7 year period to wait until it is removed from the credit reports. Is this correct? The accounts I paid off were not getting paid and I sent letters to the creditors/debt collectors asking for a settlement.
Any advise?

thanks

Try to make it reported as paid or paid as agreed. Negotiate with your creditors; they might accept your offer in exchange of a higher amount of money.

Have you paid these accounts already? Do you have any documents of your payment? And how these are listed in your credit report?
