thanks again shirley... you've been a huge help... i really appreciate your time... did you find a website or other resource dealing with arbitratio?... now, so how to address it? i guess i need to call them back. so do i offer my name up front? if the debt is legitimate, do i admit i owe it? or is this a case when you would ask for debt validation, by way of letter? any advice would be appreciated!!!

I keep getting an automated response from Gastwrith & Mirsky which says, thanks for calling us we're sending you to our automated answering. But I've never called them, don't want anything to do with them. It's some kind of glitch in their system, I believe, but I keep getting this call almost every morning and don't know how to stop it. Any ideas?

Andmu, do you have any other information about this company. If it relates to some kind of marketing call, then you can always enable the opt out feature by contacting one of the credit bureaus. After this, such companies will have to stop calling you if they tend to make a marketing call.

I was doing research on the lawfirm of "Gastwirth and Mirsky" on the internet and was led to the website with your question...
I also was receiving calls. The number on my caller ID is 866-822-6749. What made me VERY upset was that these "people" had the unsrupulous nerve and immoral ethics to call my house at 4:33 in the afternoon on FATHER'S DAY!!! I've had it with them!
So I returned their call on the following morning, and the operator agreed that it was of poor taste for them to call on Father's Day!
I intend to send them a cerified letter, and hope you will do the same if this is in fact the number that called you and you are having problems with them. If we find other's that are having similar problems with harrassment, maybe we can find ethical representation for our compensation for mental anguish!
Please reply and let me know if this is relevent to your case. Thank you.

Just because they are board certified does not make them instantly honest. Question them and insist on getting anything in writing via certified letter before making any commitment. This is not legal advise, just common knowledge.

The phone number 1-866-364-1639 is no longer registered to Gastwirth, Mirsky & Stein, LLP but Credit One Bank.

If the number you are trying to identify is 866-364-1639, it belongs to Credit One Bank (a credit card company).

They certainly are persistant..they call me at least twice a day. I get this call on my new cell phone, which no one has the # for except for my work and family. Not that means anything, but I was suspicous that I never got a call on my home phone (if it was a debt collector or something).
