I am trying to dig myself out of this payday loan mess - I have signed with T & C and they have indeed assured me that everything will work out fine. Well- I have several companies that continue to try and draft my account - my credit union can't block them but I have put all of my money into my savings account. My account is in the negative now. To close the account, I have to qualify to open a new one there and I don't think we will qualify because of our credit scores - is there a way to get these to stop sending ACH debits to my account? A letter maybe?

Also Sonic Payday is very slick - I sent them a cease and desist letter so they haven't been calling me (at least not at my job, but they have tried on several occasions to draft my account for off the wall amounts - is there a law against that?

I am so scared of this!! I also signed with T&C yesterday, and I am just afraid of closing my bank account! I think I'm going to try to make it a "deposit only" account for a while. Does anyone know if Bank of America will allow me to stop all ACH debits on my account without closing it? Like place a hold or something?

Good luck with BOA. I wound up having to close an account with them because they would not block one payday lender from accessing my account multiple times. They used every excuse in the book and recommended that the best way was to simply close the account, which I did.

I have Bank of America and did stop payments on ALL of the automatic withdrawals I had - especially the payday loan companies. The Bank did not charge me for the stop payments. Thank goodness for that because it was over 17 items. Then I had them put a freeze or deposit only on the account - had to go in the bank for that one - but keep track because the guy that was supposed to do it didn't turn in the paperwork. I called Customer service and they did it on the phone. My account is in the 500+ negative right now. The PDLs tried to debit my account again luckily I had the freeze on it/stop payment the negative went up but that night when the Bank did their accounting it all went off and went back to the $500+ negative. Keep up with the bank for awhile - I had no problems since then. and T&C is great to work with - I have had no calls from PDLs since I have signed up with T&C for consolidation! and they got one of my creditors off my back they (T&C) personally walked the payment down to the local branch and made a payment to be credited to my account that same day. For whoever found T&C and posted them on this forum thank you very much. I can feel a lot better about myself now and breathe easier.

That is the same thing I am going through right now. I went an enrolled with T&C, and on that same day, I called my bank, wellsfargo, and changed my checking acct #, and also put stop payments on my acct. That did not work, they system they were running through used an ACH system that got through to my new acct. This put me -745 with all the drafts the payday loans did to my acct. as well as the over draft fees. My whole paycheck went direct deposit to this this pay period. Now I called the bank to make a claim and now I have been waiting for information on my claim sinve the 18th and now today I called them and then they told me I have to fill out an affidavit for my claim to be reestablish. I have not used my bank acct since march 18, and now I can't use it for the next 10 business days. I am not sure if I will get my money back? any advice for me????
