Calls from 505-797-6333 and 505-797-6327 are a scam to get your SSN. Do not answer them. I have been getting calls from them for two weeks but I don't answer if I don't know the caller and they never leave a voicemail. i searched the number online and came across a site about how those numbers are scammers.
I suggest reading what others who have received those calls have said by searching the numbers. I am glad I did!

it's all a scam. if you try calling them back right away they act suprised and ask you for all sorts of personal information. if they were really in charge of collection for these companies they would have all the information they need. do not give them any information.

I work for citi cards collections agency. I am here to tell you that when we call it is an automatic dialer that gets the customer on the line before you are transfered to an agent. First and formost we have call centers all of the world and the number shows up different a lot of times. And yes when you call it back it asks you to enter your account number so that you can be transfered to the correct department. Citi cards is a bank that finances all kinds of credit cards.. Sears, home depot, macys, goodyear, exon mobil....ect.. So if you have a credit card look on the back and see if citi's name is anywhere on it.. If it is then you are getting a courtesy call letting you know that you are either going over 30 days which will report on your credit...or you are over the limit which causes extra fees....Check this out before you jump to silly accusations that its a scam. I promise you, if you are getting collection calls, then you probably have an issue with your credit card. Make sure that your bills are paid and the calls will stop...if you cant pay them, answer the phone and talk to them....if its a wrong number...its state law we have to remove it immediatly, this happends sometimes. If you have an account that you cant pay we offer programs that can keep you from getting calls all together. If you let someone help you the calls will stop...If you ignore them...it makes things worse!

For the longest time I would avoid Citicards when they called. Then I got brave & called and told them that I would pay but it would be late...but they would get the payment. The rep was very nice and would note my account & stop the calls the next day. She said the payment had to be received in the next 7 days or the calls would start again. True to her word, the calls stopped. They did get the payment in 7 days & no other calls were received.
I only had 1 bad dealing with Citicard, but that was some nasty lady who after I told her I sent my payment & gave her the information for the payment she started drilling me about all my information...like address, job info, income, how did I get money, why don't I have a checking/savings account...I only verified my address & kept saying that I sent my payment in and to notate the policy. She said the calls wouldn't stop until she got the payment in house...but they stopped that next day as well.

be aware, chase collections dept is changing info on past due accounts and sending fraud warnings by email that your info has changed in order to get you to call them and then refer you to collections....sneaky and fraudulent tactics in my view and should be outlawed.

I am a former collector for citi cards. If you think the company has something to learn about how it treats it's customers, you should try working for them. Changes in the company that led me to quit included pressure to force our customers who were kind enough to pay us over the phone to set up automatic payments for the next twelve months. This was not only difficult, but from a company production standpoint was stupid. It took longer to set up than a single payment which made it so that fewer accounts were being worked. Another problem was that, in my department, we dealt with customers that were sub 650 on their credit scores which meant that these customers generally struggled to pay on time. How the hell then, does citi expect these customers to be willing to commit to twelve months of automatic payments? Under this new model many agents felt pressure to set up customers on payment arrangements that did not necessarily meet the guidelines for such programs. The bad thing is that this should not suprise me or anyone else coming from a company that set up a dummy company, Citi Holdings, to hide all of their junk assets. Citi seriously needs to be investigated from top to bottom by the OCC. If you or anyone you know is seeking employment at Citi as a collector, please reconsider as it will only lead to a stressfull, unethical, and other wise hostile work environment.

How to stop the calls
I was getting calls twice a day from (816) 420-4002 instructing me to call (800) 388-2200 regarding my City Card. I called the 800 number, did not push any buttons (including the press one for English) and was connected to a person. She asked for my card number and I told her I was a bit suspicious and would provide her with my phone number that they were calling twice a day. She was able to look up the information and asked for my name--I told her my first name and she said they were trying to reach and other people. She said it was common with cell phone numbers and they will stop calling me.
This seems to be a scam. Do not give out any more info than your phone number (which they obviously have) and name.
