...to a reference I used at a store front payday lender....I'm about to cry.
I didn't know what to say. I guess they attempted to call me. I have no messages from them, they just went ahead and called my brother.
Oh my...I'm starting to panic now.
I spoke with them yesterday and made arrangements to pay them already.
It must have been before I spoke with them. I just called them again and left a message to contact me only and that I would like to keep the lines of communications open.
That should suffice for god's sake!

Thank you for replying. I'm almost paralyzed here in fear!
I have been kicking myself for these last couple of months for getting into this mess. But hopefully T&C will get me through this mess.
After next weekend when all the debits don't go through since I froze my account. All HE*& will probably break lose!

Start getting ahold of these people now, and you might want to bite the bullet and call your references and warn them...Let them know what's going on. I'm sure they will be ok. :)

But def. get ahold of the creditors and let them know they aren't to call your references, because they know how to get ahold of you. And T&C will take care of the rest. :)

well hopefully they will leave your brother out of it now since you've proved that you will talk to them. Theres no need for them to contact anyone else since they know they can contact you. hang in there my friend and buckle up, it might be a bit of a bumpy ride but it will all come out in the wash!! You'll see, it will all get straightened out and you'll be feeling good as new again. =)

Hi, I am new to the forum. I was reading about the situation with erzeke1. I completely understand were you are coming from. I got involved with those Payday loan people (The Devil is what I call them), and it is becoming like pulling tooth and nails to get rid of these people. I feel like screaming! I couldn't tell anyone about this because I was kind of ashamed. I am glad that I found this site and I think that this is great support system.

erzeke1, take a deep breath.. it will be okay. everyone here has given you great advice.. I have one additional suggestion.. get a notebook and write a note after each and every phone call to the lenders. The note doesn't have to be long, date, time, who you spoke too and a couple of sentences what you talked about. This will help you not only to remember who says what, but will serve as proof of your contact efforts. You might want to ask them for numbers and contact info for T&C to use if its different from the number you call. Tho they want their money, most payday lenders will take the easiest way to get it. Now they may not tell you that, they may get cranky, but in the end they are lazy and will go along if they are getting paid.

Again, take care of your self and smile :D

jj...already did that! I'm pretty organized that way..go figure!
Started to call on friday. Platinum B, called them twice and left messages. No call back yet. Was hoping they would be easiest to deal with.
Thank you again for all you do here everybody. Without you all I don't know what I would have done.

heidihern,

You have to contact your bank to close/freeze your checking account. If your account is not in negative status, they will help you closing your account. Then you have to inform your lender that you will be paying through consolidation program. I think your counselor will guide you in the process.
