Ok, so about 2 months back I applied for a bad credit loan online from Global Capital Solutions [.com] and OF COURSE it turned out to be a fraudulent company. Now being as I had no money to pay them upfront, they offered a choice of them sending me a check, and me sending a portion of it back as the deposit. I got my check for $3500.00. Put it in my boyfriends bank (suntrust) and IT CLEARED. A few days later, the bank took the money back out, half of which was already spent and his bank account NSF'ed $1600. He freaked out and we borrowed and scaped up our pennies returning things and what not to pay it back. It went back to a 0 balance and we were broke. About a week later, Suntrust took $3500 out of our account AGAIN... I dont know why, they couldnt tell us why, NO ONE COULD. So the bank account stayed at -$3500 for a few days then Suntrust closed the account at that. Now he is trying to open an account at washington mutual and they wont let him because of his closed otu suntrust account at -$3500. This is totally unfair, and we have no IDEA what we should do. We were wronged on so many account the scammers, the bank... What should we do...???? Please HELP!!!!

Thanks

Donna & Nick

Read the stories in the various forums about Washington Mutual. Especially when it comes to these scam finance companies and ACH charges. You may want to try another bank. You will still need to get the suntrust account cleared up before another reputable bank will let you open a new account.

You will need to go into the bank (don't deal with the customer service folks on the phone) and speak with an officer. Start an investigation with the bank, and work with them to figure out what happened and how.

it sounds like the check they sent you may have been no good, and hence the bank reversed the deposit, but sounds like some how you got saddled with an extra $1500 to pay back. Many banks will make funds available the next business day, but the check may not in fact have cleared or (it seems in this case) been returned for up to 10 days.
