In my search for consolidation, I started to fill out an online form, and then changed my mind. Apparently they were still able to collect my information, even though I did not complete the form, and did not send it. However, I did receive two phone calls today, and two emails....One of which is shown below. My reply is first, and I removed the names, including my own, for privacy. However, CareOne wasn't very careful, because you will at the bottom of the message to me, a reply from another customer that was written to them! In the original email, the other customer's name, first and last, were displayed to me. Needless to say, I'm not sure I would be using them, just based on the lack of attention to details displayed here. Any comments on CareOne, or Freedom Point?

Tracie,

I'm very disturbed that your message to me includes a message sent TO YOU, from a ***** (name) ! I'm sure she wouldn't be too happy either! I certainly hope that you would be more careful with MY information. Please let me know what you would do to prevent this occurrence from happening again, and how I can be sure that my information, including my name is secure.

Dear *******,

I recently tried to contact you about the inquiry you made on. It appears that you meet the program requirements of our debt management plan. Please contact us at xxxxxxxxxxxx for your free consultation.

We have helped over 2 million people. So if you are struggling with credit card debt, frustrated by high interest rates and fees, stressed out by financial problems, and barely able to afford your minimum payments, we have a unique and affordable debt management plan that's designed to help you.

Basically, you make one low monthly payment (usually it is a lot less than your current minimum payments) and then we distribute your payment to all of your creditors. We also negotiate on your behalf a lower interest rate with your creditors. Your interest rate under our plan can be as low as 6%. This allows more of your payment to reduce your debt. The result, creditors are paid timely, you reduce your debt quickly, and become debt free in a fraction of the time it takes on your own.

Your first step is having a free consultation with one of our financial fitness coaches to find out if a Debt Management Plan is right for you. Our goal is to work with you to reduce your debt so you can achieve your financial goals. So if you're interested in buying a house, want to save money, or just want to be debt free - we're here to help you.

Please call us today xxxxxxxxxxx to learn how a debt management program can benefit you.

Sincerely,

Tracie L. Anderson

I signed up thru careones website for my consolidation, they sent me to AFS,I have been with them for 5 months now,and have had no problems at all.
They got all my payday loans to stop adding interest except for one,and two of my credit cards stop adding overlimit fees and lowered the interest to about half, they even sent me a congratulations email when I paid off my first creditor. They always get back to me pretty quickly, when I have a question, and I like that I can view my account online and see the payments.Im sure every company has a few bad apples, but I would recommend them.

There is no upfront fee,and I pay $40 per month donation, which I dont think is high, since they have saved me money and heartache in the long run, they even said they would take off the donation if I could not afford it.I am using AFS,some of the other consolidation companies that go thru careone may be different.
