Cashnet 500 calling at my place of work
Date: Tue, 04/04/2006 - 09:16
I just got the rudest call at my place of employment from someone at Cashnet - his name sounded something like koala? Anyway - he went on to tell me that I won't return their calls and that they have tried contacting me via email. One of the emails I replied to Mr. Reilly telling him that I had consolidated with T & C and I didn't receive a reply, but I do have proof that it was sent. Well - that idiot told me that I needed to set up payment arrangements - I told him that I was willing to do so but not with him - I told him that I was recording the conversation (which I was. He ended up hanging up in my face but it clearly says on the recording that I was willing to pay but I will not give him the information. So immediately after that, I pulled up that email and sent them this:
This is a notice to your organization that I have a recorded conversation with a collection representative that called my place of business and rudely hung up in my face. It clearly says on the message that I am willing to set up payments but that I wouldn't make the arrangement with him - I will be forwarding this to my staff attorney. You can expect to receive contact from the attorney within the next few days -
I do advise that you all be careful with who you contact and where you call. You called an agency that handles cases such as this. The representative stated that I have not contacted the Cashnet, which the email below shows that I have initiated contact. According to our Secretary of State - you are not registered to do business in my state. Therefore, I would advise you that if you continue with the calls like this - you will be charged with harassment.
I also faxed them a wage revocation letter and do not contact letter -
Am I on the right track?

Thanks for sharing your experience Nicole. It will help lots of people decide their strategy. IMO, your lender has not informed the collection agency not to call you any more and your name is still in their database. That is the reason you are getting calls from them. Hope your counselor can convince the lender to make suitable arrangements with the collection agency so that you won't receive such rude calls in future.
