My credit report shows a judgement and collection account for the same credit card. Should I try and get that taken off? The entry under "Adverse Accounts" lists that being removed in 10/07.

Thank you again!

One of them is going to have to go...If you have a judgement, then that's it..You have to pay the judgement, but not the collection agency as well. You may be able to pay the collection agency though, and get the judgement removed--Someone correct me if I'm wrong..I know a judgement is worse that a collection account..

Is the collection agency showing a balance due?

I lost the judgement, because I didn't show up. I didn't show up, because I didn't know anything about it. It was in 2001 and I just saw it on my credit report (a few days ago), then I did a little research on the missouri casenet site and found out that the person who was 'served' at my parents home was a roommate who was kicked out for stealing a few months later. He must have never told anyone about it.

My credit report shows the judgement to Citibank, then a Citibank collections listing for the same judgement. Does it make sense at all? If not, I will try to clairfy it some more. Thanks.

Could you please mention the dates of judgment and collections listings? If they hired collection agency to collect the judgment amount, then the collection agency might verify it as accurate. Which collection agency is listed there?

It appears that it never went to a collection agency. Both listings say CITIBANK.

Here are the dates for the judgement:
Date Filed: 6/2001
Estimated date that this item will be removed: 05/2008

The other listing says:
Date opened: 7/99
Date closed: 11/00
Date Updated: 3/06
Est. date that this item will be removed: 10/07
Remark: Account closed by credit grantor
Pay Status: Charged Off as Bad Debt
Account Type: Revolving Account

Hope this helps.
