Does *67 work for you when you use it to call 800 numbers, because I was told they can still get your number even if you *67.

I think it depends on their phone service..lol But that was creepy..Hearing, "Hello Jessica" on the line was enough to make my heart go to my stomach...lol

I've only tried *67 on a few 1-800 numbers, and it seemed to work. We had changed phone numbers last year (switched to Vonage, they couldn't transfer the old number) and in the long run it was better for us because PDL and the creditors we included with T&C don't have the new number to be able to harass us.

And yes, it is creepy. I also don't like someone I have never talked to before calling me by my first name.

Well, I tried that tactic, changing my number. It bit me in the butt...they started calling my relatives, LOL. Now I have learned, 'do not call' letters work much better:)

that's true, then they will call your references. Sucks either way doesn't it? The only people I've ever listed as references are my brother and sister, and they know the situation I'm in, so they tell 'em to bug off.

You can get anyone's number even if they dial *67. When they hang up just dial *69, and you'll be told the number of the last call. This is why I always say, don't call from your home phone, or cell phone. Use a pay phone.

I didn't know that you could do that. Do you think the companies would make the efford to *69? Ok, honest companies that is.

If your phone number is on your account, that's probably how they identified you so easily. That is, if you called from home.

I called from work, but I called from there before. I don't care if they have the number, they're not allowed to call it...It was just creepy...lol

Too much time on their hands...or some really cool technology that I wish I had.

I know, that would be nice to have that technology to get some of these "blocked call" or "unknown" callers.

I'm all "conspiracy theory" too...lol I can bet some of these junk debt animals would do something like that.
