I am so excited, it's finally my turn. I faxed my letter to ameriloan on Tuesday about them not being licensed in my state, etc. Well, I just got an email saying that they are writing off the remaining balance and placed my account in a "do not loan" status, etc. YEAH FOR ME!! Now on to the next ones!!! :D

Happy Dance!!!

Thanks to all of you who have helped me in this, you know who you are!!

Sue

set, what state do you live in? and you might try and tell quikpayday that you will file complaints with not only your state AG about them, but you will file it against their new company Cash Central, ( okay well I am assuming it is their new company since it has the same address (different owners of record) and it is who they try and refer people to. On a positive note they actaully get licenses in states that require them, so at least they ary making an effort to pay by the rules).

jj, I'm in Virginia, and I did tell them I filed complaints. They have already received letters from a state investigator, and they should have received forwarded copies of my complaint about operating without a license/ charging more than allowed by VA law. But I'm going to keep pestering them until they concede to lower what is owed, to what would be owed under VA law. Thanks. :)

polly, yes I did, Military Financial. I kept hounding them as well, because they still had us owing $930. I received a letter on Monday that they have knocked off all interest, so we owe $430. Huge difference.
And thanks for the reminder, I need to call DE and check before I file a complaint. The company is licensed as a "small loan" lender, which limits them to $500 per loan. They will loan up to 40% of a service member's take home pay- we all know that is more than $500. I need to verify this is correct, because the company owner stated he is audited every year and nothing was said about loan amounts. We'll see.
