I sent off "the letter" to another online payday lender this morning and got an email already that that have "written off" the remaining balance. Yeah, one more down!! Good for me!! :)

It seems many people are having wonderful success when confronting these slime balls with facts and the laws, which is great! Congratulations!

I hate to be a party pooper, but I would like to throw a word of caution out there to keep an eye on your credit reports and make sure these people who are being so agreeable today don't turn around tomorrow and report it as a charge off. Make sure you keep your documentation in a safe accessible place for at least the next 10 years, so you can dispute any false repostings with the CRA.

I really don't want to be the bad guy, but lets face it, we aren't exactly dealing with upstanding and honorable members of the community here.

I retire my soap box...

set4sail, theres some collection agencies out there that will sure try to collect it! Then its up to burden of proof. I have read so many stories here about this very thing happening. And even when you think the SOL have ran out, you can still get carted off to court. I have been slowly paying off small debts and although I wish I could throw the files in the trash to be rid of them. I have learned here, that for your own protection, you most definitely should hang on to everything, in case later you end up having to prove yourself. shirley

Sue,

Can you also pm me the letter you sent to the pdl companies. I have been paying rollover fees for several months and these companies are not licensed in my state. I would like to submit something to these companies asking for them to zero out the account balance.

Thank You
