I have read several topics mentioning letters being sent to the payday lenders. I've heard letter of removal and letter of validation/verification? Can some give me a little guidance? I need to get the ball rolling on consolidating my payday loans. I will be contacting T&C on Monday but need to know what sending out letters will do.

Personally I didn't send letters of validation or removal, but I did send a cease & desist letter to the lenders. And they all actually followed it. I also sent letters withdrawing authorization to debit our bank acct, but no company followed that one.

Last, it doesn't hurt to send out a letter (you could probably combine the requests into one letter rather than three) stating that over time as a customer you've paid however much you have paid, your state law allows $xx, and you feel the loan should be considered paid in full. Doesn't hurt to try that approach. If you get offers from the companies, have them send a written statement if they declare the acct paid in full.

Good luck!
