What are good ways to remove a 2year judgement that should not be on my credit

Hi HOPEANDBRUCE

Do you mean that the judgment has been reported inaccurately in your credit file? If so, you must file a dispute with the CRA and get the judgment removed from your file.

Here are the steps that you should follow while disputing with the bureau:

  • Write a letter explaining the mistake clearly. Keep copies documented in a file.

  • You must send a copy of your credit report along with the letter. Highlight the item and write "Please remove"

  • The bureau will start their investigation with the bankruptcy court from where the judgment was issued in your name. If no records are found in your name with the court, the CRA will find your dispute to be correct and remove the item from your file.
