Can a collection agency renew the 'dates opened' while it is on collections and when it is passed from one to another?

Renewing the dates of opening of accounts is called re-aging of the accounts. If an agency is doing this, it is intending to keep negative information on your file for longer period and also within the collection timeframe. This is absolutely illegal action and against the fdcpa law.
Please report this action to BBB, FTC as well as the attorney general office in your state. You should see some results.
