I received a call from the yesterday on my cell phone. They called at 4:33pm(PST). They wanted me to call them before 5:00pm(PST). As soon as I got the message, I called back. There was no answer. I do not want them calling on my phone because it charges me. How can I have them stop? Any advice would be helpful to deal with them. Thank you. :?

collection agencies are not allowed to force a debtor to incure extra charges for communications. therefore, if you are being charged because they are calling your cell phone, then simply call them or write them a note and give them a better contact #. and in the state of texas, it is illegal for a ca to call a cell phone without the debtor's prior permission if that # is known to the ca as a cell #.
