anyone know about American Debt collection?

One of my payday companies, Paycheck now, couldn't wait for more payments and sent my account to American Debt Collection. I got the letter today. I wonder if anyone had dealt with them, and how are they? The wording of the letter implies that I must pay the amount in full within 30 days. The interesting thing is Paychecknow was the very last payday loan I took. I only paid one renewal fee before I closed my accounts, so really, I have to give them some credit, as they were straightforward and non-threatening. Anyway, the loan was for $300. Paychecknow added only $30 to that amount after I closed the account, and did not continue to add interest. I sent them $25 and a letter, which bings my balance to $305, which they did aknowledge. Now, the collection letter from American debt says I owe only $250 to pay the debt in full. Sounds great, but that kind of concerns me..Will this come back to haunt me?

finsfan13, if your account has not been sold to American Debt co
finsfan13, if your account has not been sold to American Debt collection, you can still make arrangements with the original creditor without paying anything to the collection agency. Talk to your original creditor and negotiate on this account.
When you are dealing with the CA, remember to get the debt validated by them. They will itemize the account details in paper so that you can review it. After you have reviewed it properly, offer a payment plan and pay it off. The update will be seen in your credit report.
