Has anyone heard of American Debt Control? I have been in contact with them and am having serious concerns.

The toll free number of ADC is 866-861-8894. It's a collection agency trying to collect for one of your past creditors. You must receive something in writing from the company validating the debt account. Don't make a payment until they prove their authorization in writing.
American Debt Control address is
Zack Anderson
1701 W Northwest Hwy Suite 100
Gr;apevine 76051
TX, USA

American Debt Control are supposed to be a debt reduction agency. When I googled the address I got a pest control company...when I called the number listed the lady told me that that address was just a mail drop for American Debt Control. I also called the chamber of commerce in Gr;apevine, and they did not know that the address listed was not the physical address of the company. AND, when I asked the consultant about it she would not give me the actual physical address of American Debt Control. Sounds fishy to me...needless to say, I am not signing up with them. It's the same run around as with Allied Mutual Brokers in the fall.

They are always there when I need them, and they have a large staff. And I am paying off my debt at a very reduced rate. It's amazing they can do this from a mail drop.

So far I'm impressed with them. They seem to know what they're doing.

American debt Control is a scam!!! Why pay them to do what you can on your own??? They can not stop collection calls, you may get sued by your creditor (they will not help) Do the MATH, by the time you pay their fees 10 to 18% of your total debt you are looking at a at a 50% settlement...ANYONE with half a brain can do that for them self!!! WHY PAY ADC???

Hi, I???m Zack Anderson, President of American Debt Control, LLC, a full service debt settlement company. I???ve noticed our company???s name mentioned here in ways that do not at all reflect how we work with clients. This concerns us because we have worked hard to build our company from the ground up by doing business the right way.

My sister, Nicole, and mother, Linda, and I founded the company in 2005 after working several years in the debt settlement industry. We saw some things we thought should be changed to give the client a better deal, so we took the big step of establishing American Debt Control. We have been successful helping our clients. In 2008 alone, we saved our clients nearly $7 million in balances owed and helped them get back control of their lives.

We get very few complaints, and when we do, we work hard with our clients to resolve them. The alleged incidents I see mentioned on this Website do not have a familiar ring to them. It would be easier to verify information ??? and help provide a solution ??? if people would provide their identities.

Think about it: many such forums are sponsored by organizations that most people would consider competitors of ours. People can anonymously post any comments they wish without any means of verification. Anyone can post a comment anonymously, and there is no way of knowing the full facts or if the incident actually took place.

I admit it: American Debt Control is not perfect. We do not satisfy every client, but we always do what we believe is the right thing to do for our clients. We tell prospective clients at the beginning about the positives and negatives of debt settlement.
We feel so strongly about this that earlier this year, I wrote a special report titled, ???12 Questions to Ask Before You Hire a Debt Settlement Company.??? It is available, without charge at americandebtcontrol.com/special-report.aspx or by emailing us at info[at]americandebtcontrol.com.
I am concerned about some of the comments I see here; not just for our company???s reputation, but for the pain these people feel. I would love to have the people who post anonymously contact me so we can work to address their concerns. I think it is quite possible some clients may not have fully understood the debt settlement process. If that???s the case, perhaps we need to do a better job explaining it, but we will never know as long as people choose to voice their concerns anonymously online instead of talking to us directly.

Finally, one more topic needs to be addressed: the Better Business Bureau. This organization serves an important function in every community across the USA ??? helping promote an ethical marketplace where buyers and sellers can trust each other. American Debt Control fully subscribes to the BBB???s goal, but we are not a member. Why not? Because the BBB discriminates against the entire debt settlement industry.

In March 2009, American Debt Control had a B rating from the Better Business Bureau. Then, the BBB decided to give a blanket rating of ???F??? to the entire debt settlement industry. Because of the actions of a few disreputable debt settlement companies, the BBB falsely labeled an entire industry as bad. So much for being rewarded for running a sound business, as we do.

This is grossly unfair to our industry and to the public which counts on the BBB for guidance.
The BBB now says it is considering a new grading system for the debt settlement industry. That in itself is a tacit admission of their error, but the best we can do for now is hope they make amends soon.

Throughout the four years we have been in business, the Fort Worth BBB itself states American Debt Control has resolved all but two complaints filed there, and that in those two cases we ???made every reasonable effort to resolve??? them. I ask you to consider that when you read anonymous complaints in this or any other public forum. When we are aware of a problem, we do everything within our power to resolve it the best way possible for our clients.

If you would like to contact me to go over any service issues or misunderstandings, I would love to hear from you. If the e-mail address below is deleted on this site, please call the main number on American Debt Control???s website and let the specialist know that you are calling to discuss a situation, and I will personally see that it is addressed immediately.

Sincerely,

Zack Anderson ??? President/Co-Founder
American Debt Control

American debt Control has a Pine Meadow Ct, Southlake, TX address a private residence. The resident of such address is/was an full-time employee of Fidelity Investments in Westlake. I am not sure what the investment's company's policy would be on that. On a more personal note, the resident has been in involved in very questionable dealings including not paying his own debt for services rendered and not adhering to legal agreements. I strongly encourage anyone in need of debt releif to AVOID USING THIS COMPANY as it is apparently not using trustworthy people.

I have been using ADC since March and they have settled on two of my three accounts. Yes there was some phone calls from creditors and some nasty letters, but I just emailed or called them into ADC and they took care of it. I only have one account left that they are trying to settle for me, but if I was in the situation over again I would use them.

I'm an employee at JPMorgan Chase Bank. As of November of 2009 we do not do business with debt settlement companies. If you are someone who is behind in payments and you hire a debt settlement company, it's most likely they will not be able to settle 100% of your debt (even though you paid them already). Chase, Citibank and many other businesses are not negotiating with debt settlement companies. We have seen too many customers burned by these type of companies that we have decided not to do business with them. Please read this article to understand:
http://damonday.com/299/debt-relief-usa-files-bankruptcy-clients-get-burned/

If you are in debt: You can either call a debt settlement company and you can pay them their fees upfront (20% - 25% of your total debt) and then you can start to pay on your debt. If you already in debt, does it make sense to give someone thousands of dollars to get you out of debt?

If you owe a creditor, communicate with them. Let them know your hardship and when you can come up with the funds. Work out a payment plan that fits your budget. Yes, collection agencies can be annoying and if one calls you, pick up the phone and ask them if they are willing to settle on an amount or take payments. If the creditor settles on an amount that you accept, ask them to email, fax or mail you a settlement letter that states the settlement amount or payment plan. Then after you pay the agreed amount, you are on your way to becoming debt free.

Mr. Anderson, my name is Howard Mann and I am currently using your company. Since I started with your company I have had 5 different people handle my account. Since I finished my monthly fees, I have not been able to contact either Heather Brown or Jennifer Torres. I have left a number of voice essages for both and have sent many emails to them. I have not recieved any 1099C's from the companies I have settled and paid. I need these for my taxes. I have called these two people to no avail. This is a negative write up and if I keep getting ignored I will write on this blog and I am not afraid to post my identy. So if you are as concerned about your companies reputation then get these people to be responsive. Put your money where your mouth is on this.

Howard Mann

Mr Mann-no one from ADC will see this, this is a forum to help people get out of debt. You need to direct your questions to the company your seeking. ADC has nothing to do with this site. You can post all you want but it will not do you any good. This is to help peoples questions on debt collectors
