Analysis of monthly payments in the consolidation program

My consultant told me that there are specific guidelines given to them and it needs to be followed in the program. They see the total amount of the debt and depending upon that, a certain amount is set for the monthly payment. After my financial situation was analyzed, he offered me the lowest payment that I can consider in the program. I opted for it so that I can have a good standing with my creditors.

He also told me that it will always be better if I can arrange some more money towards the account. It’s not necessary to be followed each month but it helps in clearing the account faster. I noted that point and followed it in certain months and when I knew that I could not give that much amount, I had the minimum amount that could be send.
