I think it could be very helpful to Arizonians.

Looks to me like they are specifically saying that internet and phone based companies must comply with AZ laws!
It also says any binding arbitration clause is not valid if the contract isn't fair.
They say that the ipdl CANNOT state in their contract that you agree to follow the laws of another state.
This is great stuff!!!!
The rest of it looks like it only applies to military people . . . ..

It looks to me like AZ has really enacted some great laws to stop these ipdl's! This is awesome news!

What do you mean Luke? If check n go is operating within the laws then the laws would have to be changed . . . . Send a copy of this bill to your state reps, with a letter explaining your situation and how laws like this would help to protect many consumers.

The site or location of a place of business where payday lending takes place in this state is declared a public nuisance. END_STATUTE

I would take the public nuisance clause to mean that they are banning any payday lenders from the state? Maybe? I'm not sure about that one . . . . We'd have to look into what AZ laws says regarding public nuisances.

I check the site and it looks like it is on the upcoming calendar. But the current law has some good stuff in it already. Check this out...this part is a passed law:

Actually this is the new bill that was just re-drafted by a couple of legislator's in Arizona. It is coming up on a vote fairly quickly but please understand that the last bill regarding payday loan companies did not make it off the floor. This bill was redrafted and seems more promising to pass the house and possibly the senate before it is enacted. However, the Arizona law currently is pretty strong but I have to advise you that the AG's office in Arizona is very slow to respond and in many instances sends Arizonans who are involed in internet payday loans to the state in which the company is physically located. However, the DFI of Arizona is much more proactive and will work with individuals and does get results from their inquiries.
