no, not really , it depends on what bank it is

Usually banks have to check Checksystems, telecheck ( I think that's what it's called) to see if you have any bounced checks, etc. from any other bank/financial institutions....this kind of thing. i wouldn't worry about it. My bank did the same thing, when I opened an account with them.

what bank was that,bank of america gives that message when you open an online acct, which is their policy, i have several accts there, and i received that message,but they were still opened. hope that helps

Sounds like a 'please hold while we check you out' message to me. It doesn't look to be a denial, or they'd likely have said so straight out. What bank is this?

It was a credit union and I received the denial letter today.

Did it say why you were denied? Are you on chex system?

I'm thinking that they're required to disclose the reason for denial....
