help!

Today i called my bank to see if a check cleared and found that my account had been overdrawn.when i talked to a rep. from the bank she said it was from some id protection place trying to draft my account for 34 dollars. they did not get the money because their wasnt any in their but it did cause my bank to charge me 29 dollars for the nsf fee. Anyway, so i called the number for the company that drafted my account and they told me that they were not liable for the fee because they did not receive any money from my account beacause there wasnt any money in my account at the time they tried to draft it. can they do this? i did not authorize the transaction!!!! i dont even know who these people are!!!! they said i was automatically signed up for their service when i filled out an employment application online....i cannot bring my account current for 2 more weeks.....I already submitted a complaint to my state attorneys office about the website in which i filled out the employment application,but what can i do about this company..I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!!!! help!!!
