BBT ignores some Chexsystems stuff

I just got a new account with BB&T. I was aware of two incidences of "account abuse" on my chexsystems report, but BBT opened it immediately anyway. They said they will normally open an account as long as the person doesn't have a "balance owed" reported on chexsystems. This is a big deal--I've tried a lot of other local banks and I was not this fortunate.

around October 2006 tons of people applied for accounts at BB&T and were approved. Within months ALL the accounts were frozen and closed. I really would not trust this bank. There were even instances where the manager said it was fine to open the account but later loss prevention said no the manager was wrong and the account was still closed. be careful cause unless something has changed, I would definitely have a back up account

I had an account with BBT. They ignored everything on my credit. I had gotten it online. I currently had to close the account due to all the fees they ended up charging me. over $1000 in fees. When all it should hvae been was one overdraft charge.

I currently bank with 53.com they have a checking account you can get. After a year they will send you over to a new account. BUt DO NOT overdraft on this account. they charge a rediculous amount but besides that I like them.

I owed chase bank 135 bucks and than i switched over to bbt in march of 2010 without having paid off chase. So im not sure if they used chex systems or not but i dont think that they did because earlier in that day i had applied to bak of america and they ran my chex report and i was denied an account. i dont know why bbt let me get an account but i sure am happy and have really been good with this bank. not one overdraft yet
