I received a Writ of Garnishment. The creditor attempted to take funds, but the funds were not in the account, so the bank did not give them anything, but charged me the processing fee. Can I close the bank account without any legal action being taken against me?

Sure you can close it...although they will find any other account you open. Have they started garnishing your wages yet??

Who is the creditor?? Did you receive a summons?? Answer it?? Show up in court??

Have to put a levy on your bank account yet? There seems to be some kind of discrepancy here. Can you give us some of the information Soaplady asked for?
