Consequences of Bad Check?

I have been having money problems with my bank account. I have two accounts at my bank and one of them had been overdrawn for a while.

Well this weekend, I wrote a $500.00 check knowing that the money was going to be there. My bank decided at this point to throw out my check (returned it to the person).

I went to make deposit on Tuesday hoping to cover the check before it went back to the bank. On Thursday, I discovered that the money I had placed in the bank was frozen. I called the bank manager to find out what had happened and she told me that the account had been frozen because the other account was overdrawn by $400 and until that account was cleared up they were not going to allow me to use my personal checking account. Plus there was an ACH charge that was accidently sent to the wrong bank account that was holding funds as well (I paid the amount out of another checking account already, but the charge disappeared).

The guy had a fit with me this morning telling me that I was messing up his bills and that other folks have not paid him and no one cared about his bills blah blah (like anyone really cares about mine). My money is tied up at the bank I said and that I can't do anything until the release the funds. The bank in turn took the money out of my checking account and put it in the account so that the balance won't be negative (still the account is negative).

I work for myself and my money has been more than funny. I cant do anything for this guy until Monday but telling him that is like telling the river to stop flooding. He wanted his money today because his account is messed up and he will have to take money from his personal funds to cover the cost.

I have tried to borrow the money from friends (I am not ever going back to a payday loan) to give to this guy but no avail. Personally, I am the only one of his clients who he actively pursues for money while the other ones can go on for months without paying him and it makes me wonder how does he survive then. I have no money anywhere to pay this man and probably won't have none until next week. I really want to go bed and hide underneath the covers for this mess I am in. No one is lending money these days and I am having a hard time managing a business and home life with idiots like these as if they are loan sharks after their prey.

I just need a place to vent and some advice. Anything will be appreciated.

I'm no expert on this. But I want to say something on this. Dear community members please correct me if I am wrong.

You can open another bank account and payoff the debt if you please. As far as I know, banks verify Chexsystems before opening an account. But there are certain credit unions and banks who don't perform this verification with the Chexsystems. You can open such a/c with such a bank.

What bank is it? Chances are since the bank has frozen your funds, they are going to close the account out. It really depends on what bank this is. Definitely consider opening a new account just in case they are closing it and will report you to chexsystems. Once reported, it may be very hard to find an account depenind on where you live.

As far as getting a loan. There is a site that may help you called prosper.com Many are able to get small loans there that are not able to get them with banks or finance company. I believe you need a credit score of 500 to qualify for the program.
