New Account and should I be concerned
I recently opened a new account at a credit union, that says they don't use check systems or EWS..only telecheck. The account has been opened for about 3 weeks, and I have my debit card (I never ordered checks, figuring I would do it later). How long should I wait before transfering my direct deposit and everything else over. I made a deposit at a branch this afternoon, and there were no issues.
I'm probably just paranoid, and don't plan to close my account at my current bank, just wanted to have a credit union account.

You have nothing to worry about, I would set up direct deposit rught away. Setting up direct deposit also gives a bank or credit union a sense of security in the fact that they know you are serious about the acccount and keeping it right.

yes, unfortunately all banks and credit unions that utilize EWS seem to wait and run the report " after " the account is opened. I have no idea why they wait but they all seem to.

m.lm...Anything is possible with a bank that uses chexsystems but I have never heard one person tell me over all these years that they have had an issue with Huntington National Bank. I wouldn't think you have anything to worry about at all. And I do not believe they run " sweeps"
I do know that generally they will not allow anyone on chexsystems to open an account unless there is no debt owed. Some locations will make exceptions in these cases.
