I'm considering opening an account with US Bank since the FDIC closed my bank last Fri. Can anyone tell me of their experiences. Also how many years does the Chex system go back? I've never bounched a check but my husband is concerned because he did over 6-years ago.

It has been reported that US Bank only checks the previous 2-3 years and anything later that that will not even show up but your report should be clear if it was 6 yrs ago

US Bank is an excellent choice

US Bank actually went back 5-years. So far the banking experience has been a good one. Just have to get used to the ATM fee's. If you check your balance with a non US Bank ATM US Bank charges $2.00. If you withdraw cash from a non US Bank ATM they charge $2.00 but I think that fee is pretty common. I was really surprised by the check your balance fee. Other than that we like the bank and they have been really helpful.
