I called Fidelity and apparently most of the investment centers have what they call ....ADMs (Automatic Deposit Machines) where you can deposit any check made out to Fidelity or to you and they will be posted to your account.


If there is not an Investment Center local to you that has an ADM, they will send out pre-paid envelopes to mail in your deposits.

If you choose to open online and not through the mail, you will have to open the brokerage account first but you DO NOT have to fund it.

If you live near an investment center:
-you can print the application, fill it out, and take it to an investment center. This way you get the account number right away.

You are very welcome. So far it has helped a lot of people especially those that are in areas where there are very few non-chex banks.

Some people get a little confused and believe that you have to have 2500.00 to open an investment account first but you do NOT. You can open the checking without the investment.

That is a really good question. I am not sure how to really answer it. Fidelity does seem to be doing fine. I know here in Ohio, they have commercials on all day for Fidelity. Since I added Fidelity to my list, I can't tell you how many have got accounts with them. The response is huge but that is only because there are so many states that have limited anounts of banks that are non-chex.

Have you considered any other banks or credit unions? Where exactly do you live?

I just opend an account with Fidelity and got the account numbers and everything. My only question to anyone who might know is. Are they going to send me a letter telling me that they closed my acct cuz of credit or checksys.

in the first post by MCA it says that they do not use chexsystems.so you should be okay.
