I live in Phoenix and had some bad issues with PDLs about 2 years ago and had my account with WaMu closed due to overdrafts etc.,...I have a bank account with a credit union in North Carolina...I've been using that account for over a year now...I ordered new checks through my credit unions website and they sent me confirmation that the order was processed by DELUXE...OH NO!!! Can they close my account if any negative information is sent back to my bank? I've never ever had an overdraft or anything like that with my credit union, but now I'm worried to death that either my bank account will be closed or that some of these PDL companies will get my account number and start drafting money...I haven't recv'd a PDL in about 2 years or more...ANY INPUT??? Should I worry that my bank will close my account or that a PDL company will draft?

*EDIT: I just checked and WaMu charged off and closed the account in December '07*

Chexsystems has been known in more than one instance to have contacted a bank realizing an account has been opened just from the customer simply ordering checks. There have been times when Chexsystems has even suggested to the bank that they close the account because they felt the customer was a potential risk etc.

Walmart(THEY USE EWS AND WILL DENY IF REPORTED), Checks in the mail also uses EWS

Accounts have been closed just from ordering checks.
Here are some that were found to be safe

Suggestions: Style Checks ,Identity, Checkworks, the check gallery, promise checks checks in the mail, Costco Checks, Bradford Exchange, lifechecks, 4checks

The credit union account I have has been opened since 1/2008 - if my bank is contacted by them do they have a right to close it or can I fight it? I have never overdrafted my account and on avg always have atleast 1,500 in it at all times. Should I be concerned about PDL companies taking anything. Again I live in AZ and the bank accounts were closed in AZ and the PDLs were taken out in AZ, but the bank account is in NC..does that even matter?

It would depend on the credit union that you are using. And the BIG IF .. If they would find out that you were reported to chexsystems due to ordering checks with a Deluxe company. It has happened to several people but I highly doubt you have anything to worry about. And even if they did, your credit union would have to agree and determine that you were a " risk" and I really don't think you would be considered one from what you have said. I know it is hard not to worry about your account, but I think you will be fine. I would make sure not to order checks from them again just to play it safe in the future.

Thanks for your responses mca; I've been treating this bank account like a baby and trying to be very careful with what I do with my money, considering what was going on in my life 2 years ago...I will keep even more of a tighter eye on it now, just to be on the safe/paranoid side...

Either way, thank you!!! :)
