Went to bank about my PDLs and talk to manager about putting Hard Hold on acct. My account is currently OD. Had 2 items hit my acct on friday and was really worried about them not being paid. Manager had my acct. in front of him and we discussed the two items. He told me they were paid and i would be "fined" the NSF Fee, which i was fine with, just as long as they were paid. Came home tonight and something made me check my acct. and sure enough the two items were returned. I am going to go to bank again tomorrow and will most likely be told he has no control over the situation. Options? Suggestions on what I can do?

Dear Diary - Today not a good day. went to bank again about returned items. Spoke to branch manager and got the "to bad..so sad" story. Called city to tell them what happen, none too happy of which i knew. Received 48 hour shut off notice, but don't know if that was prior to my phone call. will go pay on bill tomorrow. Strange phone call this afternoon. Lady named Barbara called (i didn't take call had msg taken) msg was that Wells Fargo needed to talk to me she didn't leave call back #. Called bank asked for her and there is no such person. Most likely a bill collector call...funny though that she said she was from Wells Fargo and that is where i bank. I did make sure the Hard debit thing was in effect and that i will get hit with OD fees which isn't good, but nothing i can go about it at this point. Just hoping that by the time i get paid, i will have a positive balance so i can close acct. Sorry for going on about this just feeling sorry for myself...My son will be in to "DROP KICK ME" then i will be better.

I used to work at Wells Tardo and I know that they CAN "force-pay" an item if your account shows a good history and that you don't have recurring OD's. It's up to the branch manager, usually where you opened your account. Find out from the branch manager why they did not force pay the item. There is a cut-off time for them to do this, so it may have been after the cut-off time when you requested it. That may be why they couldn't do the force-pay. Just a thought. And, yes they do charge a $5 per day fee if the account is OD longer than 5 days.
