Quick question about a new bank account

Closed my old bank account. Plan to open a new account.

Simple question. Is there anyway these people can take money out of my new account when I open it, and if they do can I do anything about it? Thanks.

From my understanding, the only way they could take money out of this new account would be if they won a judgement against me in court to garnish my bank accounts. They just can't pop in and take it from my new account right?

No intention on getting a loan. I've been using a netspend prepaid card for month and don't really have any problems with that but want a regular bank account now. I'm thinking of just telling them when I open it to not allow ACH's to and from the account, in essence blocking anyone from taking anything out if they tried.

If you are at a different bank then you should be okay.

Just be aware that if you apply for a new loan that many times the loan is with a sister company of a loan you may have already taken or that info may be shared with other internet PDLs in an attempt to get you a loan.

They will then use that information to collect on a old loan.

If you go w/ TCF Beware, they will fee you to death. They charge .30cents for each POS transacation as well as 2.00 for withdrawls at a non tcf branch. Oh, and it won't show up right away. They'll do it two weeks after the transaction.

If you want to use services such as Moneygram/Western Union to send money using their Debit card, they won't let you because of previous "Fraud" using their cards. So they put a blanket "You can't use either of these types of services", on every single debit card. Not sure if you would be able to load your Netspend card.. as I don't have experiance with that.

If you opened an account with a 'new' bank, and don't give your information out about your 'new' account, then no one should beable to get into it. Just becareful who you give your 'personal' info too. If your 'old' account is closed, then nothing will beable to come out of it. If PDL's try to debit your 'old' account, they will not get their payment..the payment will be sent back. I had to do this ( close an account and open another one) at one time. REALLY did help.

GUEST.....if you opened a 'new' account, at ANOTHER bank, I think you'll be ok. They don't have access OR permission, to get into your 'new' one.

On your statement, when it says POS: this means your Debit card ( for that particular account) was used. IE: if you see POS $5.00, this means that your Debit Card was used for a $5.00 transaction. Hope this explains things.

Personally, if you don't need to use Moneygram/and or Western Union, then you should be okay.. as long as you can handle the fees. That's my only gripe about em (Okay two)

Also National City bank doesn't charge any for any additional fees if you use a non atm/pos transacations that I know ofbut they do use chexsystems.
