I am not sure about where you live, but almost all the banks around here offer the Od automatically. The only thing is, if you overdraft alot, or get your balance way overdrawn, they will suspend it until you get caught up.
My son had OD protection and went way up on the amount of the overdrafts, and they suspended it.

thanks everyone :)
i live in NJ and a lot of banks here go by credit for overdraft, i think when i switch i will look into over draft from a savings.
i am so disgusted, my calculations were off by literally 14 cents and I wrote a check for cash because i didnt have my atm card in me. so they gave me the cash (14 cents more than i had in my account) and are now treating it like a bounced check and are charging me $35. i know i brought up some recent problems in the past but my account has been in good standing for awhile now and before the troubles i had in fall of 2008, i never bounced a check ever and i was a good customer with them for years. they also bounced this even after i pointed out (and they admitted to seeing) that i had a direct deposit pending. so i paid $35 for 14 cents. i am pretty much done with banks anyway, I just needed cash and stupid me forgot my atm card (because at least the atm would not have let me overdraw!)
Consolidating debts
I have an account with the TD Bank Toronto and have recently decented to consolidate my debts with clarity financial. Can the Td bank suspend my account if I have credit cards I owe by them?

They would likey have a "Right to Offset" clause in your cardholder agreement. FloridaRon has a little more experience in that so maybe he'll chime in.
