Is it possible to obtain a savings account at a bank with a debit card if you have been reported to Chexysystems?

i thought that in order to have a debit card with a savings acct.you either had to have direct deposit or a checking acct linked to the debit card.i'm sure if i'm wrong someone will correct me,but that's how it is with my bank.they don't use chexsystems btw.

I don't think savings accounts are linked with a debit card...atm only. (When I closed my checking account b/c of PDL, I kept my savings account and they issued me an atm card. Once I opened another checking, I got a debit card.) The premise is that debit cards are in lieu of checks. :?
