Did anyone hear about what's going on with TD Bank? People cannot get their money, checks are being bounced, their whole system is messed up.. it's so scary my savings is in there!

I have 2 paychecks direct-deposit so does my daughter & son. My daughter's went through this morning. Still waiting for mine to go through. They said they'd make good on any charges.

They were very helpful in my dealing with my payday lenders and stopping the withdrawals after I finally got to the right person, so I'll stick with them.

I also have T.D. Bank. There system went haywire after 26 September due to their new added updates and upgrades. I had to go in to banking locations to make sure my direct deposit went through.

I know they refunded any charges for bounced checks and overdrafts. It was a bit aggravating but they seemed to have it up and running now.

Beals, not only the hours, but they don't hoodwink you into accepting "courtesy" overdraft when you open an account! My recent experience with a bank racked up overdraft fees because they kept paying out ATM withdrawals when I was overdrawn due to mathematical error. At the time I was making the withdrawals (I was away for couple days) I didn't know I was overdrawn. Lo and behold, when I got home I had this message. Went into the branch and all they did was tell me what I owed, had to deposit...... that they paid the withdrawals as a "courtesy". I told them I didn't sign up for their courtesy, wouldn't have, and was outraged.

A lesson well learned (the hard way). So I'm sticking with TD Bank.

aubrey, did this happen to be bank of america? i hate when banks do that but i wish td bank would at least let things slide at least once in awhile. i must have the worst branch, they seriously returned my rent check one time for a penny! literally a penny, it is my miscalucalations plus the fee they started taking out because they no longer have 100% free checking and they returned my check than charged me the $35 NSF. and this was back before i ever bounced a check. it really must be my particular branch because i do know other branches who have let things slide or attempted in some way to work with the customers more.

It must be your branch because mine would pay and charge me the overdraft.... My daughter had the overdraft problems with Bank of America 2 years ago, and now it's the same thing with a local bank. Right now I'm adamant that I am NOT paying overdraft charges and I've even complained to NJ Banking and they responded and will investigage.

Get this, the woman calls me yesterday to remind me that I'm overdrawn. Told her the balance of the overdraft will be paid this week but NO WAY am I paying overdraft charges. and I explain to her that I never signed up for "courtesy" overdraft protection, yadda yadda yadda. She tells me that about a year or so ago they mailed out notices that this was going into effect, and if you wanted to opt out, there was a $37 charge! Well, I've only had this account for 4 months, and never had the opporunity to opt out because I didn't KNOW I had it! Told her I was never told about this when I opened the account.

She said she would relay "my concerns" to her manager. Where is the protection for the consumer? Why are we always left holding the bag and having to fight these large institutions????

:( that is not right, aubrey why would you pay $37 to get out of something you never wanted to begin with?
as for td bank, it was probably my branch but it was the closest location and that is why i left.. if i do move this winter i will be closer to another and will look into it because i miss their hours. :)

i have noticed a lot of changes.. they now charge you if you go over with your atm card for example (i did that before by accident at a gas station), and even though my account was less than a year old it is no longer free - it was promised a free year when i signed up but that is gone now. little things like that bother me, but i still love their hours and am considering a different branch in the future.

I've have had the worst experiences with TD so called bank. They re-order your debits highest to lowest then post your deposit after they charge you for overdrafts. I also had them charge me overdraft fee's for their overdraft charge...go figure. I'm finally getting a lawyer and had enough of being ripped-off by them...:(
