Depending on the amount of the
check and your relationship with the bank, the bank may pay it and
charge your an NSF fee. If you have a habit of bouncing checks, they
will return it.
If you don't have the money in
your account to cover it, you shouldn't be writing checks. If you KNOW
you don't have the money, that's fraud. Anyone can make a mistake and
bounce a check but, if you develop a pattern of this, you can get
yourself into some serious trouble.
