Trustco Bank was listed on the list of non check systems banks that the wonderful MCA put together.

As I am a customer of theirs, I went in to ask a question and saw they now have little cards that say "all new accounts are verified through check systems". I didn't ask for details, but just thought I would point this out.

The question is, if they are verfiying all new accounts, will they run old accounts through it? I have an almost 2 year history with them and there have been no issues with my account, but I show up in EWS. Should I be worried and looking for a new bank?

It is very doubtful that they will run old accounts through chexsystems. Anything is possible with a chexsystems bank but I don't believe they will start doing this. I mean it is always good to have a back up account and never have all your money in one place.

Thanks for the update although I am so sorry to hear this news. :(

okay well I have called and called different locations this morning and it seems that there are some branches that are using it but still many that are not. So I suggest calling a branch before applying

-SOME BRANCHES ARE USING CHEXSYSTEMS NOT AS OF 06-08 BUT SOME ARE STILL NOT. IT IS BEST TO CALL THE BRANCHES TO FIND ONE THAT IS NOT BEFORE APPLYING.

Trustco Bank is so friendly with new accounts. You have to go into the bank to open the account but they don't even type your information into a computer. You just sign the papers. You can sign up for internet access and bill pay. Be careful about going negative though. It's only $25 to open an account!

I'm surprise you have stayed with them.. TRUSTCO BANK is the worse bank..for dealing with people.. their house loans have no grace periods.. so if you ever lose your job and fall behind..there is no modification dept to help out..or programs to keep help you.. and also i have heard that their banking is becoming difficult as they are coming up with so many ways to protect them and not you... get a credit union or another bank./
