How much important is the 341 creditors' meeting?

341 Meeting is important both for the debtor and the creditor. This is where the debtor, creditor, and the bankruptcy trustee meet for the first time. The trustee asks a lot of questions to the debtor and he/she has to give a reply under oath.

As per the bankruptcy code, the debtors should attend the 341 meeting in bankruptcy. The debtor should provide some important documents. Also, the debtor should tell the true answers regarding the assets and income.

As per the section 341 of the Bankruptcy Code, meeting 341 is required. As a debtor you need to meet with the trustee in your bankruptcy case. Creditors may attend this meeting but most of the time none will appear. By the way, are we discussing about a chapter 7 or chapter 13?
