I filed for chapter 7 bankruptcy back in 1996. A car finance co. Filed a judgement against me earlier that same year, 1996. I purchased a home in 2004 and now i'm being told that there is a "unreleased lien" on my property by the finance co. I this legal? I included them in the bankruptcy.


No it is not legal if you included them in your bankruptcy. Contact your bankruptcy attorney. If he is no longer available to you, you might try contacting the company that has the lien on your property and show them your bankruptcy discharge. Good luck

The attorney that handled my bk case is no longer in practice. I contacted the attorney's office that is representing the finacial corp. That has the lien against my property. They say that they know i filed bankrupcty but the debt is still owed. I don't know what to do!!! Soooo stressed. Please help.
