Sorry! I was thinking that if I go ahead and file bk, the creditors could take my tax check when I get it??? If I wait until I get my tax check, and then file bk, maybe I would be able to keep it???

if you are filing BK this year your tax refund is from last year.it shouldn't matter.unless your refund is rather large.
It also depends on what you are filing...are you filing 7 or 13?
It also depends on what you are filing...are you filing 7 or 13??? With a 7 your debt is discharged and the tax return fits under a wild card exemption and is not new found income so you get to keep it. If filing a 13 it's disposable income and you don't.
