I currently have around $5000 in credit card debt, all are in collection and have been for months, i lost my full time job when i elected to go back to school (they dont permit part-timers) I have a simple job to help me pay rent and bills delivering catering orders. I only make around $700 a month whilst going to school. debt consolidation is out of my reach, i cant afford the enrollment fees and the money they want per month. I have a free consultation with an attorney on the 22nd of May and they said to file a chapter 7 it will take an estimated 800-1100 for the attorney fees. I would be put on a payment plan for this as they know how much i earn. Is the attorney fees reasonable, they come highly recommended. I have my mindset on bankruptcy i just wanted your opinions on the fees! Thanks

I think that's a reasonable rate. I know someone here said that she had to spend around $1800 towards the attorney fees.

Read the two threads below. Others who filed for bankruptcy are sharing their experience.
